I believe that we should and can do more to support our young people (both inside and outside of school)

Here's what I'm doing about it.

Most recently...

Growth Manager

Reach Foundation (March 2022 - present)

Every child should lead a life of choice and opportunity.

I'm working with schools, trusts and community leaders around the country to ensure this is so.

At Reach, we're building a coalition of teachers and leaders committed to ensuring all children can access cradle-to-career support, grounded in great schools.

It's systemic change through local action.

Sounds interesting, doesn't it?! If you'd like to hear more, let's find a time to talk.

Advisor

Campus Skateboarding CIC (September 2021 - present)

I am supporting Campus Skateboarding in Bristol to develop its offer to vulnerable young people, schools, trusts and corporate partners.

Head of Development & Partnerships

New Schools Network (March 2020 - February 2022)

Prior to joining the Reach Foundation, I led NSN's business development function, expanding the breadth and depth of the organisation's impact.

Trustee/Director

PolyMAT (July 2019 - February 2022)

Until recently, I was a trustee of PolyMAT, a multi-academy trust in South-East London.

I was Vice-Chair of the Finance & Audit Committee, and a member of the Premises and Strategy sub-committees too.

And prior to that...

Head of Strategy & Planning

New Schools Network, 2019-2020

I implemented org-wide processes to:

Generate, iterate and evaluate ideas (applying design thinking and UX design strategies);

Facilitate brainstorming sessions (adopting and adapting GV sprint methodologies);

Ensure that projects are documented with greater clarity (in line with lean principles).

(Interim) Head of Open and Pre-open Schools

New Schools Network, 2018-2019

I led NSN's growing open and pre-open free schools programme.

I refined and repositioned NSN's nascent consultancy offer to pre-open schools.

I developed distinct, profitable services and secured new clients.

Teacher, Tutor, KS5 Subject Co-ordinator, External A-Level Examiner

Harris Federation & OCR, 2016-2018

I led GCSE/A-Level Economics and taught BTEC L2/3 Business Studies to mixed-ability class groups at Harris Academy South Norwood.

I was a pastoral lead to 50 post-16 students; including application support for prospective university students.

I coordinated external examinations; led trust-wide subject-specific training; designed and moderated internal examinations for KS5 Economics.

Researcher

A variety of organisations, 2012-2015

Before, during and after my undergraduate studies, I conducted research at a range of organisations (Cavendish Advocacy, ResPublica and NBCUniversal) in and around my three lead interests during that period: national rail infrastructure, mutualism and the evolving media landscape.
